UVA Football Season: Best Way to Experience

A building on the University of Virginia's campus

The summer is in full bloom here in Charlottesville but the Wahoos are gearing up for UVA Football Season! The first home game of the season is Labor Day Weekend on Saturday, September 1 against the Richmond Spiders. The game starts at 6pm and will surely be a family affair with the sun setting over the beautiful Scott Stadium and cheering our team to victory.

One of our favorite things about football is TAILGATING. We put together a list of our tailgating essentials to pull off the big event before the main event!

  1. A UVA Football tent for those early fall games when the sun is still hot!
  2. Gotta get your UVA gear from Mincers on the Corner!
  3. Everyone loves House Dressing! Call a day or two ahead to order sandwiches from Take it Away
  4. The Greek Goddess Dressing, Pimento Cheese and crackers are on point at Feast and will bring in the crowds!
  5. We all love our Virginia wine. Pick up a great selection of wine at any of our local grocery stores or even at Feast!
  6.  Play a game of Cornhole!

To top off the wonderful time, stay at a Guesthouses property within walking distance of the stadium!
