Kelly Cottage

We absolutely loved Kelly Cottage. The house was so beautiful and cozy. The location was perfect and we enjoyed the beautiful gardens on the property. It was a peaceful retreat for our family.

I needed to have surgery at the University of Virginia Medical Center and needed a month to recuperate close to the hospital.I am very fussy when it comes to my surroundings and I could not have found a more perfect place to stay than Kelly Cottage. It is a charming cottage surrounded by lovely outdoor spaces. My husband had a very well appointed kitchen to cook in and two bedrooms in front, one of which he used as a study. Connected to the bedrooms was a modern, updated bathroom which was super clean. In the rear of the cottage was another bed and bath which was very quiet and convenient for my needs. A Dutch door in my room allowed me to open just the top to enjoy the birds, fresh air and rear gardens. Bedding was great and comfortable and very clean. We had Lourdes come once a week to clean and she was terrific. Dining room had French doors and living room with large windows providing plenty of light. We were able to take short walks along the sidewalk in a very safe neighborhood. Jan was great to work with and addressed all questions quickly. I really cannot say enough about this gem. I am sure it helped me to recover faster! Thank you Jan!

We moved to Charlottesville for 3 weeks in the Fall and loved staying at the Kelly Cottage. It was the perfect location for our family, an easy walk to the Downtown Mall, and a short drive to the University. The house was the perfect size and had every amenity we could have asked for. We were even able to meet a number of the neighbors who walk their dogs every morning and evening. I hope we get the chance to stay there again.

Our family stayed at the Kelly Cottage for 45 days during a move to Charlottesville and could not have found a better spot to relax and to experience the area. The cottage is beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable, and is located in a safe, quiet area blocks from Charlottesville's Downtown Mall. The owners, Jan and Nick, were wonderfully welcoming and thoughtful. They made sure we had everything we needed and gave us great advice on what to do in the area. They even made sure our young children (6 and 8) had an assortment of books to read! We couldn't have been more pleased with our stay and would recommend Kelly Cottage to anybody looking to stay in the Charlottesville area.

We received information from the owner on the cottage ahead of our stay which was very helpful. The cottage was spacious, clean, very well equipped and described accurately on the website. The owner thoughtfully provided snacks and breakfast items for the start of our stay. We were able to reach her easily with a question we had and she was very responsive to a suggestion we made. The cottage is conveniently located in close proximity to the downtown mall and is in fact walking distance to the mall and so many good restaurants. We have already booked a second stay at Kelly Cottage in the new year.

Staying at Kelly Cottage for a month as Fall arrived was a wonderful experience! The setting is peaceful and beautiful, the neighborhood is historic and very close to downtown, and the house itself was perfect. The owner has done a remarkable job upgrading the house, keeping its original charm, but making it modern and comfortable. No detail has been overlooked! The bedding was classy and comfortable, the kitchen was chic yet practical, and the bathrooms were lovely as well as functional. We were cool when it was hot outside, and warm when the weather changed, with lovely outdoor options to enjoy. We felt at home, but even better, with no worries of our own. Thank you for this stay, and we highly recommend it to anyone else.

Beautifully decorated, quite and clean with extra touches made our yearly sisters vacation stress free and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with necessities and well as the bathrooms. There was plenty of space to gather together and plenty of room to have our own quiet space at night. The home is in a nice neighborhood and is within walking distance to downtown where there are several restaurants, a brewery, shops and historic sights. Not too far from several hiking areas, parks, kayaking, wineries and hot air balloon rides. The back yard has a nice seating area with a fire pit. A grill was not present but it appears like the house is continually being updated as the front porch looked like it may have been newly added on. I’m sure the owners would supply one if we would have requested as they were very responsive and accommodating.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 525 Kelly. The house was newly and thoughtfully renovated. The cabinets in the bathroom were deep and great for all our packed toiletries and cosmetics. There were unexpected snacks provided for us to enjoy. The kitchen and living room were nicely appointed. And, we enjoyed the nice beds and linens.
