Located directly above Charlottesville's historic Downtown Mall, The Townsman places you in the heart of the city's best restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, boutiques, and live entertainment. Situated between Mudhouse Coffee and Rockfish Brewing Company, you'll be just steps from everything downtown has to offer while remaining a short drive from local vineyards, scenic hiking trails, Monticello, and the University of Virginia. Excellent option for our son’s wedding weekend. Clean, easy to access and the amenities were fantastic. Highly recommend! The location is a bonus as well, close to everything on the downtown mall.

There is no better place to stay when you have a relaxing Charlottesville getaway weekend planned! The Townsman provides luxury accommodations at the fingertips of the downtown mall. Consistently superb service and would never consider staying anywhere else.

We stayed 2 nights and absolutely loved every minute! The room was perfect and had everything you'd want. The furniture and room decor was lovely and the bed incredibly comfy. I loved the beautiful shower and the tiling. Perfect location and parking provided. We hope to return! Thank you for making our first anniversary so beautiful.

We had an excellent stay in the Meriwether room. It was nicely decorated and spacious. The location was fabulous with shops and restaurants/cafes at our doorstep in the historic Downtown Mall. We took advantage of the Concierge’s excellent recommendations of restaurants and wineries. Highly recommend The Townsman, and will stay again when in the area.
The townsman un hotel is amazing!!! It was perfectly situated on the mall with tons of shops and restaurants. Live music playing when we went out at night. It was so magical! We loved it!
